Design & Ergonomia / Design & Ergonomics

1 Titles

The series presents studies, research and projects developed in the field of Design & Ergonomics, across the different areas where the methodological approach and philosophy of intervention inherent to Ergonomics, Human-Centred Design/User Experience and Inclusive Design are combined with the creative and proactive dimension of Design as strategic factors for the innovation of products, environments and services, for social innovation, and for the competitiveness of the various production sectors.
The aim of the series is to bring together the best research and design experimentation contributions in the numerous sectors in which the relationship between Design and Ergonomics represents a concrete factor of innovation: from the domestic environment to the different contexts of sporting activity, from personal care and well-being to environments, products and services for healthcare and assistance, from urban mobility to the accessibility and usability of cultural heritage, and to the many other areas in which this design approach finds opportunities for application and development.
In an era dominated by technological complexity and profound social transformations affecting every aspect of the daily lives of individuals and communities, Design’s capacity for creative synthesis, closely linked to the traditional components of Ergonomics (physical, cognitive and organisational) and with the methodological approach of Human-Centred Design and User Experience, allows us to respond with appropriate and innovative solutions to the real needs and expectations of people, promoting accessibility, inclusion and participation, while engaging with all the disciplinary and professional expertise involved in the processes of designing and producing physical and virtual artefacts.

Books published in this series are selected by the Scientific Board and submitted to two referees for peer-review.
